The 30-foot landing-craft style Sounder model features a full, 360-degree walk-around cabin and drop-down bow door. The boat is powered by a pair of 4.2-liter Yamaha F300 outboard motors. The motors are installed on a hydraulic lift so that they can be raised and the vessel can access the extremely shallow Gulf waters where the vessel operates.
This fire and rescue vessel has an air conditioned, walk-around cabin design that features a full-length patient bench, a pair of ALLSALT Maritime 6300 shock mitigating seats for crew safety and comfort with an aft cabin door and two sliding side-doors for three points of ingress/egress. There is also a 60-inch-wide drop-down bow door to rescue victims in the water, or to use for beach access. This vessel also features a 30-inch-wide dive-door in the aft, starboard side of the vessel to allow divers access to the water.
Firefighting capabilities for this vessel include a (1,000-gpm) Darley, LSDE1000 pump, driven by a Chevy 4.3-liter engine. Water is supplied by a Task Force Tips (TFT) “Typhoon” manually operated monitor installed atop a TFT valve under monitor which allows firefighting crew to attach 2 1/2-inch hand lines for additional capabilities. In the event of a chemical fire, the Sounder model is also equipped with a 40-gallon foam tank.
A complete Raymarine Axiom Pro electronics suite is installed, including a pair of 12-inch displays, GPS, AIS, heading sensor, broadband radar, through-hull transducer, VHF radio, Whelen emergency light and siren package, FLIR/Raymarine thermal imaging camera system, Whelen scene lights, remote spot lights and more.
