Over the past three years, science has been applied to workplace harassment prevention training (and diversity training), and a clear picture of training shortcomings is emerging. Where—and how—has workplace training and complaint management fallen short? What are we doing wrong? Or right? This workshop will focus on what works--and what doesn't work--in workplace harassment prevention training and complaint management, as applied to the fire service specifically. It will include brief updates on diversity training and the latest trends in sexual harassment law, but the focus will be on effective training. Participants will leave with the foundation of an action plan for a sexual harassment prevention program that will support successful recruitment and retention of women in the fire service.
