  • The Fire-Dex exclusive TECGEN71 Outer Shell was developed for structural firefighting PPE to lessen heat stress by reducing weight and increasing flexibility. Because of its unique thermal protective qualities and breathability, it is the ONLY outer shell of its kind able to pass certification when paired with the lightest thermal liners and moisture barriers available on today’s market.

    The fabric is a ripstop twill weave that combines the proven durability ofDuPont™ Kevlar®/Nomex® and the unique benefits of the TECGEN fiber.

    Now, you can also opt for our non-fluorinated version, TECGEN71+, which uses the same fabric as our traditional TECGEN71 outer shell but is made with a PFAS free DWR finish. This material offers the same performance in TPP, breathability, and overall reduction of composite weight.
