Against the advice of friends and family, Sam Lyden studied philosophy in college, which primed him for a career as a bartender. After the better half of a decade tending bar and managing some of the best lounges and saloons in Chicago, he decided to try his hand in the coffee world. Attracted to the magic and complexity of coffee, and the fast-paced nature of the coffee business, he has worked throughout the pandemic to bring hospitality to the wonderful customers of Metropolis Coffee Company.
