 Press Releases

  • VCL Network-MouseTrαpTM is an essential network security and forensics tool that enables users to detect firewall breaches and unauthorized network intrusions in their network, in real-time.

    • VCL MouseTrαpTM and Advanced Honeypot is designed to detect and provide alerts to the network administrator of a network intrusion or cyber-attack in near real-time.
    • Special focus on detecting network intrusions and cyber-attacks on Power Utility installations and SCADA networks.
    • It can be programmed by the user to emulate (i.e. to appear to an attacker) as a SCADA Server, Relay, IEC-61850 Protection Relay, IEC 60870-5-104 Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), MODBUS RTU Server, Router, Switch, Data Storage Device, ATMs and other devices used by financial organizations.
    • It generates an audio and visual alarm upon detecting a hostile presence in the network.
    • It provides forensics including attacker trace root. It maintains a complete log of intruder credentials such as IP address, domain and the originating location details. Each log entry is time-stamped with exact time and date of each such incident of unlawful intrusion.
    • Multiple Network-Mouse-Trαps™ may be installed by the network administrator at various vantage points in their network to attract the “hostile” elements / network infiltrators.
    • It also assists in identifying and isolating the source of problem / points of customer’s own network vulnerability by providing a trace route of the intrusion to assist with real-time forensic analysis.
    • Generate reports. Daily, weekly, monthly or yearly reports can be generated for analysis.
    • User Interface for easy view of intrusions, forensics, offending countries and much more.

  • VCL-TP, Teleprotection / Distance Protection
Teleprotection / Digital Tele Protection Coupler (DTPC) / Digital Protection Signalling Equipment (PSE) equipment...

  • VCL-TP, Teleprotection / Digital Tele Protection Coupler (DTPC) / Digital Protection Signalling Equipment (PSE) is an extremely reliable and rugged, sub-station hardened equipment that is designed to operate very reliably even under the most demanding conditions and harsh environments. The VCL-TP, Teleprotection Equipment provides up to 8, 2-way independent “binary command” channels which can be operated selectively; or in a combination; or simultaneously over a diverse range of communication interfaces.

    Substation interface options include:

    • 8 Binary Commands
    • IEC-61850 GOOSE (PSCH1 and PSCH2)

Network / Transmission interface options include:

    • IEEE C37.94 Optical link
    • Ethernet / IP/MPLS / MPLS-TP (10/100BaseT RJ45; or 100BaseFX Optical) transmission link
    • E1 plus IEEE C37.94 Optical, 1+1 redundant transmission links with path protection / route protection with automatic failover
    • E1 (2.048Mbps)
    • 1+1, E1 (2.048Mbps), point-to-point transmission links with path protection / route protection with automatic failover
    • E1 + Ethernet / IP/MPLS / MPLS-TP (10/100BaseT RJ45; or 100BaseFX Optical) transmission link with path protection / route protection
    • E1 plus IEEE C37.94 Optical plus Ethernet / IP/MPLS / MPLS-TP (1+N redundant transmission) links
  • Differential Protection (IEEE C37.94)
Communicated assisted Differential Protection (IEEE C37.94)...

  • VCL communicated assisted Differential Protection (IEEE C37.94) provides various solution options for Power Utility applications. VCL IEEE C37.94 equipment offers ruggedized, robust and sub-station-hardened transmission solutions which convert IEEE C37.94 optical fiber multi-mode to single-mode for up to 50dB optical link loss budget (i.e., a typical reach of approximately 160 KM or 100 miles), IEEE C37.94 protocol over IP/MPLS / MPLS-TP transmission links and IEEE C37.94 to E1 (2.048Mbps),

VCL IEEE C37.94 protocol equipment includes precise clock recovery and clock re-generation functions which allows the transmission of IEEE C37.94 channels over an E1/SDH or IP/MPLS / MPLS-TP network for error free transmission with symmetrical transmission latency with zero transmission errors. Product applications are used to interface with current differential protection and distance protection relays.
