Select Spectrum provides the premier licensed wireless spectrum marketplace from 150 MHz to 40 GHz. Select Spectrum offers broadband FCC spectrum licenses including 4G-LTE Band 54 (1670-1675 MHz) and Band 48 (CBRS) to Utilities and other Critical Infrastructure Industries. We also offer narrowband frequencies including AMTS (217-220 MHz) and NB-IoT Band 103 (Upper 700 MHz A Block). Stop by our booth #3347 or visit our website https://www.selectspectrum.com to learn more.

  • Select Spectrum offers licensed spectrum in the Upper 700 MHz A Block. The band is ideal for LTE Narrowband-Internet of Things (NB-IoT), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Distribution Automation (DA), and many other voice and data applications. The Upper 700 MHz A block has been standardized by 3GPP for NB-IoT, designated as Band 103, for 4G and 5G services. Inclusion within the 3GPP standard will promote wide ecosystem adoption by chipset, module and base station manufacturers.

Maximum downlink power is 1000 Watts ERP at 1000 feet, and maximum uplink power is 30 Watts ERP. Networks may employ point-to-point, point-to-multipoint (tall site) and/or cellular architectures. Engineers recommend small-cell deployments for superior building penetration. Maximum out of band emissions limits of 43 + 10log (P) dB apply to the A Block and the adjacent 11 x 11 MHz Upper 700 MHz C Block where Verizon operates a nearly nationwide 10 MHz paired LTE network. The A Block, located between 757-758 MHz / 787-788 MHz, is similarly protected from interference from the adjacent FirstNet/AT&T channels at 758-768 MHz and 788-798 MHz.

The band has excellent propagation and can be used for a broad range of applications including fixed & mobile data, voice, and video. Licenses are in use by, and recommended for, utility and other critical infrastructure communications, including Private LTE NB-IoT (Band 103), Distribution Automation (DA), Surveillance Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and Land Mobile Radio (LMR). In total, twenty-one utilities across the nation have acquired spectrum rights.

Also, in partnership with Puloli, we have completed the first LTE Narrowband Internet of Things (IoT) deployment (“LI-7”) in the Upper 700 MHz A Block. LI-7 provides long-range IoT connections to support a variety of low bandwidth remote applications at very low-cost per remote device. The system is consistent with the cellular industry’s Band 103 standards, as set by 3GPP. Chipsets and modules for LTE NB-IoT devices are available from Pycom, Qualcomm, Quectel, Sequans, and Telit.
