Sumitomo Electric will contribute to the development of next-generation energy infrastructure through its extensive portfolio of products and services, such as non-flammable safety and long-duration Redox flow batteries, power cables and its engineering. Redox flow batteries are rechargeable batteries that are charged and discharged by means of the oxidation-reduction reaction of ions of vanadium or the like. They are expected to serve as a technology to stabilize the power grids that will be needed to expand the introduction of renewable energy including solar and wind power.

• Sumitomo Electric Exhibits at DISTRIBUTECH International 2023 (Jan 29, 2023)

  Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. will exhibit at DISTRIBUTECH International 2023, the world's largest electric power related technology exhibition to be held from February 7 to February 9, 2023, at the San Diego Convention Center, U.S.A.

  DISTRIBUTECH International is the world's largest electric power related technology exhibition, attracting more than 500 exhibitors from around 100 countries involved in the power industry and around 12,000 visitors for specialized technologies, products, and talk sessions.

  Sumitomo Electric will introduce its redox flow battery, a storage battery that stable power supply with features such as high safety, long life, and a high design flexibility. Presentations will also be made at its booth introducing the principles and features of the battery, as well as examples of past applications and the results of demonstration projects.
