Description

The focus is on operating efficiently while working to achieve an aggressive search and rapid extinguishment. Students will combine their knowledge of fire behavior, water application and advancement, and search and vent-enter-search operations to determine when extinguishment is occurring properly, search is being performed quickly, and performance and outcome on the fireground have increased. Four rotating stations will provide students a high-fidelity, interactive experience with an experienced international instructor group from across the country.

Methodology

Four rotating stations will provide resources for students to learn, practice, and them implement their understanding under live fire scenarios.

-Students will have the ability to rapidly practice search size up, how to communicate effectively and minimally while searching a structure. Students will learn how to locate, protect, and remove victims on the interior of the structure all under live fire conditions.

-Students will be able to identify fire behavior that indicates what is the highest priority search areas as well as what searchable space is beginning to diminish. Students will identify what water application would be most efficient to support these searches.

-Students will learn in a live fire environment the ideal water application and hose advancement practices to rapidly extinguish fire.

-Students will be able to identify from exterior points the key areas for search, and from interior locations the most effective way to locate and attack those.

Learning Objectives

-Students will be able to identify and evaluate the most efficient and rapid way to extinguish a fire while supporting the search team and ensuring increases survivability for the victim.
-Students will be to identify searchable spaces and the most effective way to identify and clear areas
-Students will be learn the most proven methods for victim movements and removal
