  • The North River Freedom is 21 feet long with an overall beam of 8 feet 6 inches in order to be DOT compliant (towable) in all 50 states. The design incorporates a hull form that will have a shallow draft, so that fire and rescue crews can get close to shore to utilize the powered, drop-down bow door to load or unload patients, rescue victims, or passengers.

The Freedom has a custom aluminum center console and T-Top and is powered by a 2.8-liter, Yamaha F200 four-stroke outboard, and will have a removable, Darley (380-gpm) 2BE 21H fire pump, coupled to a Task Force Tips 2 1/2-inch manually operated monitor at the bow for fire suppression capabilities. This boat also has a full electronics package that includes a Motorola Agency radio, Garmin GPSMAP 8610 multifunction color display with structure scan transducer, Garmin VHF 115 radio with external speaker, Whelen Mini Liberty LED light bar and a Whelen LE and Siren package.

“North River has received a considerable number of requests for a more budget friendly and trailerable fire vessel over the past few years,” said North River’s Government and Commercial Sales Manager Jordan Allen. “North River has listened to our customer and developed this extremely tough and compact platform that can be launched from very crude boat ramps and operated in small, shallow bodies of water.”
