Pi-Lit is a U.S.A. manufacturer of smart traffic control devices.  Used by law enforcement, fire departments, utility companies, and DOTs worldwide.  Based upon a 2.4GHz wireless network, these smart guys talk to each other to automatically estabish a sequential or coordinated flash pattern.  Driver guidance, not just warning, is what Pi-Lit strives for.  Often confusion ensues when too many lights are flashing at an incident or work zone.  And the network connects to cloud services via cellular modem, so Waze and Google Maps, and dashboard alerts on 2018 and newer vehicles are notified automatically when the flares are deployed.
