Iridium

Have you always wondered why dinosaurs are no longer to be found on the planet? There are many theories about the cause of their extinction and one of them is linked to iridium. A large meteorite impact would have caused a huge dust cloud, depositing a very thin layer of iridium across the globe. Some scientists think that a meteor impact like this wiped out the dinosaurs 66 million years ago. Iridium is key evidence for this theory.
