  • DESCRIPTION

Rescom® Elite™ is an instantly deployable, Intrinsically Safe, hardline system designed to provide clear, effective, and continuous communication for a confined space or a high-angle rescue scenario.

With a new & sleek plastic housing and a no-nonsense design, the Rescom® Elite™ is the newest generation of rope rescue communication system manufactured by SED to replace the legendary Rescom® Modular™.  A system typically consists of a Master Interface (DMI) with a Headset, for the Attendant, and two or more Slave Interface units (DSI) with Headsets for Entrants.  The belt-mounted Master Interface (DMI) provides centralized power for all other Interface Units (DSI). The entire system operates on low voltage and can be powered by 3 AA batteries, which are housed in the DMI unit.  The Combined Safety/Communication Rope™ is a unique SED design and is used as a primary or secondary lifeline in rescue scenarios, setting the standard for communication lifelines for over 37 years.

    What is Intrinsically Safe?

Intrinsically Safe means that the system is incapable of causing an explosion or being a source of ignition in the presence of potentially explosive or combustible materials and gases.  In other words, the equipment and wiring are incapable of releasing sufficient electrical or thermal energy under normal or abnormal conditions to cause the ignition of a specific hazardous atmospheric mixture in its most easily ignited concentration.  OSHA has many reports of fires caused by non-intrinsically safe systems.  Preventing fire and explosions is a top priority for all industries around the world.

What sets the Rescom® Elite™ Communication System apart from other hardline systems on the market?

Our 10,000 lb. tensile strength NFPA-rated Combined Safety/Communication Rope™ contains built-in wiring, simplifying line management and thus, reducing the chance of User entanglement while working.  It has been tested to provide communication up to the point of rope failure at over 10,000 lb. load. This rope is ideal for Search and Rescue (SAR) personnel or Fire Fighters.  SED’s Combined Safety/Communication Rope™ or Extension Cords provide clear, reliable communication for up to 4.8 km (3 miles) per Headset.  Connectors and ropes can also be submerged in water up to 10m (35’).  DuraCORE™ Cable with a SEDFLEX™ jacket which makes it more rugged than average communication cables. MSHA-approved Communication Cables are also available for use in the mining industry.

How to choose the appropriate Kit and accessories?

You can either choose a pre-packaged kit or select specific equipment to personalize your kit.  The kits are expandable up to 10-Man, but 5-Man and 7-Man Kits have been the most popular choice by rescuers.  Each kit consists of the following:

    • Headsets
    • A Master Interface (DMI)
    • Slave Interface(s) (DSI)
    • Combined Safety/Communication Rope(s)™ and/or DuraCORE™ Communication Cable(s)

  • HuPerT® 1000 – Full-Size Human Performance Trainer
HuPerT® is a Human Performance Trainer developed to minimize and eliminate Human Performance Errors in accordance with the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO®) Human Performance Guidelines and Standards....

  • HuPerT® is a Human Performance Trainer developed to minimize and eliminate Human Performance Errors.  ROPA Technologies.  Training Program has been designed to train and evaluate in accordance with the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO®) Human Performance Guidelines and Standards.

HuPerT® is designed to help prevent, anticipate and catch Human Performance errors during the performance of work in any sector.  Extensive analysis of tragic events by experts in the nuclear industry has identified many commonalities which allowed the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO®) to create its compendium of directives which has become the basis of Human Performance worldwide.  HuPerT® was designed with these directives in mind and we are continually refining our product according to our client’s needs and the industry’s requirements.

Each HuPerT® model has seven programs designed to train and evaluate your employees according to the following Human Performance Tools:  Briefings, Communications, Procedures, Situational Awareness, Checking, and Verification.  Actuation of the various style buttons and rotating controls, typical of those found in Nuclear Power Plants and for Process Control, results in a visual and audible indications of correct and incorrect Operator actions that can be easily adapted to meet your company’s learning objectives.

HuPerT® 1000 is full-size a Human Performance Trainer that is designed to control errors and faults by employees in areas of critical safety such as Nuclear Power Generating Stations.  To enhance the scope of Human Performance Training, it can be coupled with the HuPerT® DLA (Dynamic Learning Accessory).  For Instructors on the go, the HuPerT® 2000.  version is a compact and portable variant of the full-size HuPerT® 1000 with all the same features.  The system comes pre-programmed with seven instructional programs:

    • One short program with 12 steps and no faults designed to be used during the initial training of Human Performance skills.
    • One medium-length program with 24 steps can have up to 3 optional faults selected by the instructor.  All the optional selected faults are Instructor corrected to allow the worker to continue with the procedure without error.
    • This program is designed to be used during initial training to enhance the Human Performance skills being taught.
    • Four long programs with 44 steps each which can have up to 5 optional faults selected by the instructor.  All the optional selected faults are Instructor corrected to allow the worker to continue with the procedure without error.
    • These programs were designed to be used to enhance Human Performance skills during initial and continuing training.
    • Accessory Fluid Dynamic Learning Activity (“DLA”) program with 43 steps used when the DLA unit is connected to either HuPerT® model.  This program is designed to focus on the teamwork element of Human Performance training by incorporating a local and remote team using radio communications.

All of the above Program Features may be used during:

      • Initial Training for New Hires,
      • Continuing Training for Experienced Hires, and
      • Remedial Training for when there is a failure of the Initial or Continuing Training or after an error event has been determined to have had Human Performance contributing factors.
