The key challenge across Big Data is no longer the volume of data — but rather the velocity of data and how to rapidly extract insight, at scale. For the first time in data processing, we can use this to our advantage, unlocking the benefits of hyper-scale data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning through the creation of the Data Flow Index (DFI) – the first software infrastructure platform that enables machines and humans to capture, index, store, and analyze the human world in its full fidelity.

Excession Technologies (a General System Division) was created with a mission of enabling both humans and machines to understand the world around them, in real time. With the volume, velocity, and variety of data increasing exponentially, existing systems are already unable to cope, resulting in up to 98% of all machine data created each year being discarded. Excession built a suite of data agnostic software tools to deliver rapid, hyper-scale ingestion, indexing and instant querying, with minimal compute.

  • Excession Insight is a data agnostic software application (working across all types of spatiotemporal data), created to provide rapid ingestion, instant querying, interoperable analysis, and automated alerting across large data sets - key challenges our customers struggle with every day. With Insight, analysts can ingest, index and query multiple data sources in minutes and hours, rather than days and weeks, before sharing previously hidden intelligence through a suite of third-party integrations, or within the platform directly. One of Excession's international government clients recently ran a benchmark test with a spatiotemporal dataset of 15 billion records. It took 12 hours to ingest using traditional PostGIS processing, and a further 12 hours to index before analysis could begin. In contrast, the DFI, used seamlessly alongside Excession Insight, took just 4 minutes and 43 seconds to ingest and index the entire dataset, with Insight they were able to query the data immediately as the first record landed - an exponential improvement.

    1. ▪  Data agnostic software application built in partnership with intelligence analysts

    2. ▪  Rapid ingestion and indexing with instant querying and layering of multiple data types

    3. ▪  Interrogation of hyper-scale data, designed for both technical and non-technical users
    4. ▪  Proactive alerting and automation, increasing speed to insight across many data sources
