Welcome to the IAE, proven academic partner to MacDill AFB!
The IAE is a proven academic partner to MacDill AFB and US Defense customers writ large, providing DoD internships to 500+ students, prototyping, studies, applied research, and access to a consortium of 27 universities with pre-negotiated agreements in place. Our soon-to-launch Rapid Experimentation Lab will provide MacDill and other DoD customers with agile concept exploration and prototyping capabilities through existing task order-based contracts. These prototyping capabilities include but are not limited to:
- Fabrication: 3D printing, metal forming, laser cutting, CNC/machine tools, hand tools, and more
- Electronics development: laser printed circuit board fabrication, FPGA development, precision soldering, radio frequency (RF) test and development, breadboarding, and component test
- Protype delivery: such as sensor packages, custom computer boards, RF communication devices, and UAS
- In-house testing capabilities: environmental & performance testing such as ultra-high vacuum, shock, vibration, electrical signals, RF modulation and emissions and more
