Hesse Enterprises said it has acquired Ideal Meat & Provisions Inc., based in Northridge, Calif., for an undisclosed sum.
Ideal Meat produces beef, lamb, veal, pork and poultry products, according to its website. Founded in 1986 by Larry Vad, Ideal has grown into a regional producer of premium meats servicing the foodservice industry and broadline distributors.
The new entity will assume the name Ideal Meat LLC.

Larry Vad and his team have always excelled at producing the highest quality of products and delivering on customer expectations, staple ideals for all Hesse Enterprise Companies. We will build on those strengths to grow Ideal Meat to the next level,” Sioux City, Iowa-based Hesse said in a press release.
Vad will remain on board for the next several months to ensure a smooth transition, said incoming CEO Alec Hannah.
In addition to Hannah, the Ideal Meat executive team will include John Foster, president; Chuck Szitas, vice president of sales; Jeremy Szitas, vice president of operations; Mike Hesse, CEO of Hesse Enterprises; and Ronnie Merchant, COO of Hesse Enterprises.
“At Ideal Meat & Provisions, we have always put our customers and employees first and made sure we found the right team to take us to the next level, one that embraced the same values. I’m looking forward to helping Alec and the team grow “the new” Ideal Meat into the future,” Vad said.
Hesse Enterprises comprises Blue Ox Towing Products, Automatic Equipment Roller Mills, Mad Ramps, Caicos Dream Tours, Arena Sports Academy, and the Hesse Foundation.
